Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: We accept cash, cheque, eTransfer or credit cards for payment. Please note that unless you can provide proof of exemption, taxes (such as HST) ARE payable regardless of how payment is made.
Q: Are you a Seasonal company?
A: Our exterior cleaning services are usually only performed during the warmer months (average >10C temperature) - typically April through October. Some commercial indoor services (interior shop floor, walls, etc.) may be available year round - contact us for more information.
Q: What makes you different than some other company/guy listed in the Classifieds?
A: Awake Power Wash is not really in competition with other local companies or some 'guy' with a big box store pressure washer in the bed of a pickup truck. Awake Power Wash utilizes state-of-the-art techniques and processes that make us unique in this region. We are also fully insured!
Q: Are you a company or a person? Are you insured?
A: Awake Power Wash is fully registered business in the Province of Ontario and we pay taxes. We are fully covered by commercial insurance and are registered with the WSIB.
Q: Are you a local company?
A: Yes! Awake Power Wash is based out of Sarnia, Ontario and is a Canadian, family owned small business. The crew that will work at your property are the owner (Chris) and his son (Ryan). We are NOTpart of a franchise.
Q: Is the work guaranteed?
A: Yes! In addition to our 100% customer satisfaction guarantee, we guarantee all our service for at least 1 year - in many cases for much longer. In the extremely rare case that there are any issues, our commitment is to do our best to make things right!
Q: Do you use high pressure?
A: Sometimes - high pressure is necessary when cleaning hard products such as concrete, stone, etc. HOWEVER we specialize in the Soft Wash process.
Q: What is Soft Wash?
A: Soft Wash is a cleaning process using a combination of (very) low pressure water and specialized cleaning agents. Water pressure is low enough that you can place your hand in front of the stream! Soft Wash is the ideal process on delicate surfaces like siding, asphalt roofing and windows/doors - all of which can be easily damage with high pressure.
Q: Do you use High Pressure Water on a house surfaces (siding, windows, eavestrough, etc.)?
A: Never! High pressure is very damaging to sensitive materials like vinyl, wood or aluminum and can blow a hole right through your glass, etc. If you've ever had someone use a pressure washer on your home, chances are there are scoring or striping marks on the soft surfaces - these stripes are actually damage etched into the surface. Our strong recommendation - DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO BLAST HIGH PRESSURE WATER AGAINST YOUR HOME!
Q: Do you use a Pressure Washer?
A: Yes. We use Industrial grade pressure washers (for reliability). Pressure Washers are useful for spraying water at high pressure BUT will also spray water at low pressure - we use appropriate nozzles to set the pressure appropriately for the task.
Q: Do you use Hot Water?
A: Sometimes. We have the ability to create our own hot water for use in specific situations. Hot water is not normally used in most residential services but is quite common when completing commercial services.
Q: Do you perform Residential Services?
A: Yes. We offer a wide variety of residential home and exterior cleaning services such as house washing, roof washing, deck/patio cleaning, fence cleaning, etc.. Q: Do you perform Commercial Services?
A: Yes! We offer a wide variety of commercial building and exterior cleaning services. We also clean some interior areas such as shop walls/floors, etc. Contact us for your FREE ESTIMATE.
Q: Is your process Environmentally Friendly?
A: YES - Our main cleaning ingredient is pure water which is great for the environment. We also use a variety of environmentally friendly cleaning agents which have minimal environmental impact.
Q: What is Stain Restoration?
A: Stain Restoration is the process of using specialized cleaning agents to reduce (and often completely remove) staining on a variety of outdoor surfaces such as concrete, wood, siding, etc.
Q: Can you removed stain/paint from a wood surfaces?
A: Loose or flaking stain/paint (or any type of finish) can successfully removed from wood (siding, deck or fence) surfaces. Surface finishes that are firmly bonded to the wood will not be removed by our wood cleaning processes. We do NOT use aggressive techniques - we do NOT use high pressure, we do NOT sand the surface and we do NOT use chemical finish striping products. Our process will properly prepare the wood surface for re-application of finish stain or paint.
Q: Can you remove paint from a wood surface so that it can be stained afterward?
A: Please see FAQ above. We do NOT employ any process that we guarantee to remove 100% of paint from a wood surface and leave it ready to be stained.
